Why don't you guys calm down a little! I was asking if there was a solution available to give a front panel power switch, with rear connecting AC power. Like what synthesizers.com sells. I never said anything about wiring 240V mains AC up to the front panel myself. Surely this can be achieved without having to run mains AC to the front panel. Could a front panel switch control an AC relay within the power supply, using separate DC power only for the front panel switch circuit or even just shorting a line to ground? Thanks Simon, Canberra AUSTRALIA >You're dead-nuts-on though. I've left similar responses to people asking >how to 'bend' their circuits especially when they ask in the same breath >if it will 'hurt anything' > >I didn't see the original post, but I agree with you 100% Tom. > >Tony > > -----Original Message----- >> From: mbedtom [mailto:mbedtom@...] >> Sent: Friday, August 30, 2002 10:20 PM >> To: motm@yahoogroups.com >> Subject: [motm] MOTM Front Panel Power Switches > > > > >> This comment will be: >> 1) not popular, maybe >> 2) not politically correct, likely >> 3) truthful all the way >> >> Posing the question "... can I remote the power switch..." is, in >> itself, proof that it should not be done (at least by YOU).
