The MTM is nice - kind of a one trick pony - but it's a good trick, I think Paul posted some info about this on AH recently. I talked to St. Croix many years ago about this and a bunch of other stuff (at the time Marshall had just become the US Quantec rep). Anyway, he would spew so much info, so fast - I didn't retain much - wish I had recorded the conversations. The studio I worked at had purchased an MTM from him and we were considering the Quantec QXL - we ended up getting an EMT 251 (the Mr. Roboto looking reverb) for about $18K (early 80's dollars). Back to flanging, my favorite is a voltage-controlled analog tape machine. In my case it was pretty easily rigged with an ARP 2600 and an MCI JH-110B 1/4" machine - it was mighty sweet.
