Ok, it's OT, but personal e-mail replies (to overand@...) would be appreciated. I finally did it, I baked my Juno-106. My Voice 5+6 DCO chip went bad (for the second time) not playing square waves on voice 5. So I ordered up a new one and installed it. Now (after one goofy power-up with a bad solder joint, oops, which caused vocies 5-6 to be totally dead) it's running fine, aside from the fact that ALL my sawtooth waves are gone, no sawtooth on any voice. I must have seriously baked something, or goofed up a cable somewhere, or sliced a trace, but there's no sawtooth at all anymore. I'm stressing out like I've never stressed with the Juno before. Granted I can replace it for something on the order of $350 - $450, but I like this one, it's been through a bit with me, and now I've wounded it. Arrgh. Feel free to ignore, or to forward me to an appropriate post, but I'm not a complete electro-ninny, i'm just not an engineer. I've checked *every* trace going from the chip out, as far as I can tell, on boths sides of the board, and they're all good. Also, no two adjacent pins seem to be shorted. Gr. -Geoff (overand@...)
