----- Original Message ----- From: Kevin Boudreau .... but has anyone ever tried filling up a Synth.com cab with MOTM? Does it fit perfectly for sure? I know that the .com's modules are Moog sized, and MOTMs are a little wider but the same height. --LH-- The synth.com modules are 8.75 tall. MOTM are 8.735 tall. Paul and Stooge panels are 15/1000 smaller than the actual per-unit deminsions for "fitting slop." But, 15/1000 inch is not much. So, they are damn close. Synth.com are 2.125 wide. So a 22U cabinet = 46.75 inside according to that calculation. If you figure 1.75 per MOTM U (actually 1.735 counting the slop) then you can fit 26U of MOTM modules. 26 X 1.75 = 45.5. You have some space left over.46.75 - 45.5 = 1.25 left over. Now, if you have some .com modules, you can find various combinations that work out real close. 23 motm = 40.25 plus 3 Synth.com = 6.375 and total 46.625 (1/8" left over). Be sure to use black .com panels instead of modules <snicker>. And if you can fill in larger gaps with 3/4" wide Stooge end caps. KB: Yes, the holes are different, but just drill new ones. Oh, instead of using wood screws into the .com wood, maybe you should add official MOTM licensed flat rails to attach to the wood and provide the metal screw holes right where you need them See: http://www.wiseguysynth.com/larry/flatrail/flatrail.htm Paul has a .com cabinet. Paul, do the flat rails fit the .com cabinet OK? Larry H
