1. Use Larry Hendry's universal mounting brackets. http://24.12.85.234/larry/bracket.htm 2. The most delicate operation is drilling mounting holes in the pcbs. John's newest designs (eg. the VC envelope generator and MiniWave have pcb mounting holes, but the DarkStar does not. You can see the locations I found here: http://www.users.qwest.net/~daveb2/ds_mount.htm 3. When mounting pots off-board, use 3 colors of wire for consistent color coding and twist them in an electric drill to help keep things neat. Make sure you don't wire the pots backwards. 4. Mount the board to the bracket using nylon standoffs and bolts. That way if you are close to a trace, you won't ground it to the panel inadvertently. 5. Use high quality jacks, switches, and pots. I have a parts list page you might find helpful: http://www.users.qwest.net/~daveb2/parts_list.htm Moe >>>> I just bought a Darkstar and a MiniWave kit to add to my MOTM set-up. MOTM modules are the only kind of DIY stuff I've done so far, so I was wondering if there are any experienced diy'ers that can point out some possible pitfalls while building these Blacet kits for a MOTM system. Feel free to offer even the most basic advice. <<<<
