FLAT RAILS: The metal shop says the flat rails will be completed next week. They raised the price somewhat, so they end price will be a little more than expected (the original quote was for 1000. I only ordered ~ 500). The rails will go to the painter (black powder coat) after I get them from the metal shop. He is giving me a 20 cent per rail break if I let him "work the parts in" with other jobs. He says about 3 weeks. That will be about the time I get back from my early August vacation. Now, here is the fun part. When painting the flat rails, the threaded holes have to be plugged so as not to fill them up with paint. The painter wanted $400 for teflon plugs for the holes. I saved us $300 by buying 6000 # 8/32 1 inch screws. Of course, I have to screw them all in the holes before they go to the painter. My wife will help. The screws will be sacrificed in the process. I am hopeful that they will be re-usable if we ever make flat rails again. Unlike the panels, I am not taking orders until I have the parts in my hands. So, payment-to-delivery time will be in the one week range. If you originally expressed written interest to me in flat rails when I asked, I have saved your mail. You will be first delivered. I ordered about 150 more than I thought I needed. So, there should be plenty for everyone. MY VACATION: I am taking a 2500 mile motorcycle trip through Ohio, Penn, NY, Conn, Quebec and Michigan from August 3 to August 12. I will be completely out of touch. If I get front panels back from the screener before then, I will work like a madman to ship them before I leave. Otherwise, it will be just after I get back. Moe is shipping about 1/2 of them. So, if you don't get any response from me for those 10 days in August, you know why. I have taken your maney, purchased a Harley, and I am leaving the country. <snicker> Later, Stooge Larry
