Hi Kenneth and all, >In addition, all this finger pointing at Doepfer as theives coming from those who in themselves are copying the designs and engineering of others doesn't quite seem right. You are right in the strictest sense. But there is a big difference, to me at least, of what myself and Paul are doing. Korg no longer make the MS-20, it hasn't been made for twenty years or so. The TB303 hasn't been made for a similar time. By releasing the MOTM-420 and the TB3030, we are not doing any harm to sales of new TB303s and MS20s. Furthermore, both of us have added to the value of the designs we have liberated. I believe Doepfer has not. He has taken the MultiLadder, already a modular panel, and bunged it on one of his panels. I have the circuits for the Serge Wavemultiplier. Probably the only module that I would like to copy from his range. But it will not be a Oakley module. There is a question of decency here. Deopfer is small business, I am too. I thought there was decency among the little guys. Perhaps not. But as I have said on the DIY list I am not angry. Far from it. And in some ways I am flattered. And true, I am not the only person to have discovered multi-tapped filters. The 3320 based Oberheim Expander was the inspiration for the MultiLadder. However, for patent reasons probably, this was never done on any Moog ladder before to my good knowledge. The ARP Qaudra's phaser was probably the closest any one got. My work with Moog ladders goes back a mere five years, and SuperLadder was born from that. Discussions about my findings with the subtraction of rung one and rung four of the ladder on the synth DIY list with Magnus Danielson and Grant Richter led me to the Oberheim Expander. From then the MultiLadder was born. So yes, it was the fruits of many people, but I don't hide that. Its all on public view and I have thanked people for this. Doepfer does not.
