You are not missing something crucial.  You are correct in that
you can use > 1 900 (e.g., 1 900 per cabinet).  Part of this discussion
and the one I previously brought up is 'efficient' and/or complete use of
cabinet space in  a custom cabinet or SKB case.  I think you will also
find out that this is a great group of people that like to openly discuss
new ideas or mod's of current ideas.  So far I've learned of several
interesting approaches to power modules that I otherwise would not have
thought of, e.g., Steve M's 1 U power module idea.
