Heres a thought, I am using a Roland M-181 controller to control my MOTM when not using my Kenton Converter. I have enough modules now to make 2 basic voice set ups and I want to have 2 sounds coming out of the MOTM at the same time and with my keyboard controller split midway to control both using the 700 switch module. I have not tried it but I will next time I'm in my studio. Heres a description of my thoguths about patching order. I would have to patch the CV into the X input and the gate into the Y input on the 700. Now I can run the A CV and Gate outs of the switch to one voice setup and the B CV and Gate outs of the switch to the second voice setup. For the CV input to control the switch I patch in the 1v/oct CV from my controller keyboard and set the switch points for both sections to rollover at middle C on my keyboard. Now if I play below middle C, I will hopefully only trigger the bass voice and associated modules in my system and when playing middle c or above I hope to trigger the lead voice modules. Does this make sense? I can't wait to try it and even if it doesn't work exactly like I said can someone give a few pointers to make it? ha! I love my MOTM and I have been trying to look past the common ways to use it that I have begun to take for granted (only a little) to find new uses. PAUL, I have to interject that the Infra-red controller module thing I was able to acquire through Frostwave, Aus would make a great MOTM module. With the infra red beams, you get a fairly direct response range in front of the sensors and if it was an MOTM panel in the upper left of anyones cabinet, it could be a great handsfree controller that produces footpedal or joystick like pitch bend and makes you look like you are trying to cast a spell on your MOTM! You can get pretty close to the thing as long as careful and not set off any otf the triggers or cv's. They did a good job with the module, but I know you could add a few features and make some sort of excellent controller module maybe down the line. Just a thought since I can't stop waving down these busses and taxi's in front of my modular with no one looking. Maybe to mod it to be a voltage controlled LFO onboard to increase rate of modulation as hands begin to fly. (Side note= The frostwave thing would not be so fun without my MOTM. Please make sure to have a big ass modular to plug this into if you get one and preferrably MOTM.) Sure joysticks are fun but this thing is the ultimate in clean, look ma no hands :~) Thomas White _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
