You want nicrome wire. It used to be sold a
lot for model rocket engine igniters. Of course, you could just use model
rocket engine igniters. Check your hobby shop.. You can light
them off 3 or 4 "D" cells quite easily. I never tried AA, but seems
reasonable, just not as many times. :)
