Later Furman came out with a unit that combined lights with power conditioned outlets which is what I have now. But there are a lot of new alternatives: (1) Rope light. I bought some of this just because I thought it was interesting. You can cut it to any length and easily build it into a case. It's probably only about 1/2" in diameter except for the ends. It uses very little power (California people) and the tiny little bulbs last for years. (2) Very similar to rope light internally are these thin (about 1/2" square) retangular lights that come in lenths from about 1' to 2'. They are normally made for lighting the inside bookcases and display cabinets and whatnot. They are perfect for building into cabinets. (3) And having just received the March issue of Keyboard magazine, there is a new company with a new rack lighting product. It could be useful.
