greylist setting?

greylist setting?

2005-01-27 by H Li

Hi,

Thanks for several people's help, after installing
sendmail-devel, I successfully installed
milter-greylist-1.6. Then, following the instruction
in README, it is running and functioning. My question
is: what is a better setting for it? When I send a
mail fro yahoo account, it was delayed by

X-Greylist: Delayed for 00:47:25 by
milter-greylist-1.6 ...

In some other cases, delayed by 00:16:xx etc. Is it
normal? I didn't greylist or whitelist anything
except my lan IPs. My /etc/mail/greylist.conf has:

greylist 1m
autowhite 3d
dumpfreq 10m
timeout 5d

in addition to other default settings. Are these
setting good? Should these or other settings be
changed to improve performance or filtering?

Also, does anybody have a script to start it as a
service? Could you let me share it?

Thanks!

Harvey

Yes: the sender decides when it resends.

That does not sounds that bad.

Look into the tarball.
