failure in logs?

failure in logs?

2007-11-16 by Jack L. Stone

Have just upgraded from GL-3.8 --> 4.0
Using FBSD-6.2x/sendmail-8.14x

Noting repeats of this is the logs:
Nov 16 12:09:54 mail milter-greylist: smfi_getsymval failed for {if_addr}

Wondering what it means.

Thanks!

Connexion from a non IP source (local socket?)

As far as I remeber, a local submission produces that. But it should
remain a harmless warning. I thought I disabled it, but it's possible I
missed one occurence.

Unforunately, I have 2000+ entries in the greylist.log over a span of 11
hours.
Perhaps you can check on that and let me know what line(s) to patch.

Many thanks!

I get the same errors if I have report=all in greylist.conf. Once I changed
(back) to report=delays, the error message went away.

I am running milter-greylist version 4.0 and Sendmail 8.14.2 on FC4.

Hi, Jim: I've never seen the setting "report=" in the conf file. Just
grepped through several GL-conf versions and didn't find it. Guess it must
work if you use it.

Don't know ehen I missed that one, tho.

Thanks,
Jack

Ooops! My mistake. Found the settings. Grep failed me because the line had
a #prefix.

Will give it a try. Thanks again.

Indeed that appears to clear up the problem. I didn't have the "report="
set, so guess it was set for "all". Just cropped up as an issue in v-4.0
tho. Not complaining however. Been using this for several years now.
