Milter-greylist

Since I upgraded to version 4.0a1 I have noticed that from time to time 
a lot of error messages are logged by sendmail.

First there is something like the following:

Apr 17 09:44:16 arwen sm-mta[31416]: l3H7iCSe031416: Milter (greylist): 
write(R) returned -1, expected 27: Broken pipe
Apr 17 09:44:16 arwen sm-mta[4031]: l3H7iCsp004031: 
milter_read(greylist): cmd read returned 0, expecting 5

Then a lot of the following:

Apr 17 09:44:21 arwen sm-mta[8647]: l3H7iL0S008647: Milter (greylist): 
error connecting to filter: Connection refused by 
/var/greylist/greylist.sock

And at least a few of these:

Apr 17 09:45:22 arwen sm-mta[14517]: l3H7jMZJ014517: Milter (greylist): 
local socket name /var/greylist/greylist.sock unsafe

Then everything start working as usual.

Maybe these are related to the DB dumping?
But they have NOT at regular intervals of time.

Is it normal?
What can it be?
