repeated entries in greylist?

repeated entries in greylist?

2007-01-12 by steve@watt.com

I recently started using milter-greylist, and I seem to sometimes have
mail get stuck in retries.

The system in question is a FreeBSD 6-STABLE box, and the
milter-greylist version is 3.0 from the ports collection.

My configuration is pretty simple; mostly whitelist, except for some
unusually spammy victims. The line from greylist.conf that applies is:

acl greylist list "grey users" delay 5m autowhite 36d

In troubleshooting the "some mail doesn't get through", I looked in
the database dumps, and was very surprised to see the same IP address
/ source / dest tuple repeated quite a number of times. Here's an
example (destination email address hidden, but all are the same) in the
auto-whitelisted section:

64.49.216.216 <community@...> <email-address@...> 1171333104 AUTO # 2007-02-12 18:18:24

I also see multiple identical (except for time) entries in the pending dump:

I haven't dived into the source yet to see what debugging taps I can
stick in, but thought I'd ask in case it's a simple "oh, yeah, go
do <x> in your configuration" type question.

Thanks!

Free time? There's no such thing. It just comes in varying prices...

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
