Milter-greylist

Could someone help me with this please.

My mailservers are just used by myself and my wife so not much mail and I 
have a long whitelisting period.

grepping greylist.db for "sardines.*AUTO" gives me 1693 entries whilst 
there are 4800 with "AUTO"

sardines@... was the address I used to use in newsgroups. I've 
now blocked it in sendmail's access.db's so I'd like to remove those 
entries from the greylist.db's.  Will I have to stop the greylisting and 
then remove the entries from the greylist.db files?  Or wait until 
January?
