May it be a problem with libcurl ? I use (and compiled with) libcurl3 
7.13.2 (Debian package).

Is it possible that libcurl mangles end-of-lines on the client side if 
they are not CR-LF ? Or that there is thread-safety issues (quite 
unprobable, errors would not be so systematic) ?
