It is a good idea to update the database at least when you install GeoIP. When F9 is released in May, an updated database should be installed. Any Fedora release will update the database as well, but those come roughly every 6 months. If you want to keep your GeoIP database more current, or you don't upgrade this OS consistently, you have to initiate the database updates yourself.
