Many spammers do retry. They get autowhitelisted. Whitelist from greylisting, though, not whitelisted from the next layer of spam control. Greylist alone will not take care of your spam, but it will knock a whole lot of it out. Especially trojaned windows machines, viruses and, oddly enough here anyway, almost all of the pornography spams. Ten seconds works great, but not using the lazyaw option.
