It seems worse than trying to steer a Mars Lander in real Time :-( I heard from someone in Philips Applications a few weeks ago, thanking me for setting up the group, but he was anonymous - using a temporary Yahoo email account. They were getting fed up with people requesting sample chips from them. He did arrange for me to get to get some free LPC2106 chips, they turned up on Xmas eve. 8-) If anyone is having real problems getting a chip I can provide one from my stash.
