New(used)Poly800--Audio Glitch

2003-11-19 by neuro

Just bought a Poly, and I'm wondering if this is a problem...I hear a
glitch/skip/warble (?) about 3 seconds after striking a note(listening
with headphones using 9v power supply). This skippy warble doesn't
happen every time I hit a key, and not with every patch, but it
appears to occur 80% of the time. Is this a programming issue, a
power issue, or is it broke? Help!
Thanks ; )

settings on one patch, would that change the settings for the whole
synth? thanks for any help.

Probably NOT................. You should try a different Power Supply......Mine
likes a little more than just 9 volts for hassel free operation !
No higher than 12 volts, however !!!! Perhaps more importantly, is :
what is the current ( Amperage ) capacity of your present PS !??????
Got to be more than just a few hundred Milliamps....find one that can source 600
or more Milliamps ( 0.6 Amp ) or better...... with this parameter, the more the better...Dont worry, the Unit only draws as much as it needs, but it cannot
be starved by a PS that has insufficient source capability ! Then for sure it cannot
be expected to perform 100 % !
Cheers,
Dan
