Is it sending random bogus pitchbend events? Does the waveryness change
when you move the bender, bend range slider or tuning pot?

Sounds like some contact cleaner is in order...

when i record into protools there is no pitch bend MIDI info

just seems to have a mind of its own (by a semi tone or so) have tries to offset the MIDI im sending into it but is too all over the place to rely on.....

how do i clean the contacts?

I think Gordon was implying there might be a problem with the pitch-
bend controller on the keyboard itself- so even if there was no
pitchbend in the MIDI data being sent to it, it might be adding its
own bend to the notes it's playing. If you set the Bend slider (next
to the Volume knob) to the minimum value, does the problem persist?

No, it would send data if it was wibbling.

Okay, that leaves the tuning slider. You can probably give that a
squirt of pot cleaner (the electronic kind, not the kitchen kind) from
the top and waggle it back and forth a few times until it stops being so
scratchy.

If all else fails, you'll need to replace it.

I have a MKI Poly800 that is about a half step flat, but its constant, no wavering. What I found as a work-around is to push the joystick all the way to the right (highest), adjust the tuning slider until its in tune then let go of the joystick. If I then turn off the power, push the joystick all the way to the right again and turn the power back on the thing is in tune.
