New HAWK-800 boards have arrived!

New HAWK-800 boards have arrived!

2009-05-05 by patrioticduo

Hi Poly fans,

the new batch of ten HAWK-800 boards have arrived. I put two together and tested them in my Poly-800 MK2 and they worked as expected.

I am now waiting on a delivery of memory chips. I also have to create the instructions for the MK2 installation. But MK2 owners will soon be able to upgrade their Poly's to get the benefits of the HAWK-800.

The only caveat is that the sequencer goes back to 256 steps instead of 1000. Hopefully, they won't matter to much.

Mike.

Hi Mike,

This is great news! I'm not a big sequencer user so I'm not worried about the note limit at all.

The patches you posted for the Mark II were really appreciated I won't get to try them until next week as I'm off to the great white north like I mentioned. One quick note patch1 (the factory bank) and patch2 are the same file when I compared them. The sequences were all the same except for patch9 and patch11. I'll talk more when I've checked these out.

See ya, Fran

Re: reading/study matter on memoryregisters/patterns/eproms, etc?

2009-05-22 by k9k9dog

hi mike/all,
im looking for something to read/study on memory registers, eproms, etc.
can you recommend/link anything? i want to make a start.

reason being, ive been messing around with synthedit, the modular synthesis
program, and have learnt a fair bit about the voltage control/logic control side
of things, in terms of routing signals, etc. and think im ready to start thinking
about programming memory locations/patterns etc.

at some point, ill up my findings, re: randomizers and resets and stuff, as
its all reasonably interesting, informative and meticulously laid-out, so maybe
being useful, to synth bods in general, without wishing to be a smartass newb.
any help from anyone, most appreciated.
cheers all,
dom

OK, here is a plain dump of some of my links to different resources.

Most of it is somehow related to the HAWK-800 project. Some of it won't be useful to you but happy browsing!
