Updated audio files

Updated audio files

2006-03-16 by Michael Hawkins

Manu,

Would you please send the audio files to me?

Many, many thanks,

Also, to the group moderator...

Why not remove the old audio and replace them with Manu's?

Mike

Subject: Factory Presets + Fixed Poly

Hi all,

I've been experiencing some troubles trying to use the .wav and .mp3
files over the net to load the factory default presets on the poly. I
can hear even the sound disturbances due to the cassette rotation!

I had to use a lot of compression on the sound and even had to tweak the
pitch to be able to load them. Once loaded, to prevent similar future
problems, I've resaved the presets again. But, this time, instead of a
cassette, the poly was connected to a professional sound card. Now, I
have a crisp clean recording, with no sound and pitch disturbances, no
hiss, no nothing, 16 bits, 44khz. Comparing the old and new files in any
sound editor is scary. Now it loads in my poly with no problems. If this
could be useful to anyone, I would be happy to upload to the files
section on yahoo. I have some other presets that came with a magazine
some years ago, too.

Those files can be used on a MiniDisc, DAT, any type of portable music
player of your choice or your computer. My Poly loves the MiniDisc
option for sure :)

Btw, I'm very happy today, because yesterday I was able to fix my
Poly-800's Midi Input :) Needed a few travels to the local electronics
shop, but it's been worth the time.

Manu

Hi

I always have problem to load the factory patches, the process end with
an error message. I will be happy to try both of your .wav files. Can
you send it to me directly to my email adress, because I think the
files sections is full.
Thanks
Bernard

That's a great idea. I have had similar problems with the PC files
despite trying for some hours.

Cheers,

Paul
