Volume knob problem Mk1

Volume knob problem Mk1

2005-12-30 by synch71

Hi all,

I keep on having this problem with the volume knob. It does not work
properly, as the volume jumps randomly up or down, with scratching
noises as I turn it. Now having reached the point where the Poly-800
Mk1 hardly outputs any sound sometimes and the L and R channels drops
in and out. It seems like the pot is broken, and how do I fix this?
Perhaps I only need some clean spray or?
Suggestions needed to a big fan of the little magic Poly-800!

Regards,

Johan

Try using some of the Caig cleaning products. You can get them through Markertek and most other reputable electronics supply stores. Caig DeOxit is vary good at fixing problems like these. But only use it once for each potentiometer! Otherwise it may clean off the resitive element!

Ok thanks for the tip! I'll try ASAP.
Otherwise I'll just replace it (somehow) :)
