can someone tell me how IC1 is numbered?

can someone tell me how IC1 is numbered?

2005-01-10 by theagreemen

this is about adding a input to the poly800

I just was hoping someone would bounce some info back to me. how is
an IC numbered. i have uploaded a picture of IC1 named NMJ2069.jpg
with how i think its numbered. if someone could tell me if i was
right or wrong. that would be great. just kinda wanted some
feedback before i started cutting wires. anyway...i was also
thinking for the input i would need to put in a pot to limit signal
coming in. any ideas?

your probably going to want to do moare than just wire a lead to it and put a potentiometer on it. You probably want to think about getting the impedance right for an input. Also a decoupling capacitor or transformer can help too. IMHO that wiring an input stright to the chip that was never meant to see an outside elctricl signal might just end up damaging the chip from plugging and unplugging the cable to other devices.

I'll agree that you might want to provide some way of isolating your
input for the protection of this IC.

It's hard to tell from the photo, since the max resolution I can view
it is 400x400. I think you have it correct. If the end of the IC with
the semicircular "notch" is up, then the first pin to its left is pin
1, then the pins are numbered sequentially counterclockwise.

Good luck

Marty

i wanted to add an input so i could run my theremin through it...but now im kind of afraid of messing with it. i had thought about some sort of limiter or something but im not exactly sure how to go about that because im not much of electronics guy. i was thinking maybe a small fixed pot that would only allow X amount of signal in but again. that was just my thought. seems like if i really want to go for this im gonna need to pick up a volt meter.
