On the earleir poly 800 mk1 they didnt have battery back up but later changed that. All my poly vers mk1 have the batter back up all three of em. I hate leaky batteries. So I only load them when im playing tours. I do have the diagram where to solder to if youd like to add the battery back up. I do and the same things happens to my poly when the batteries is dead. If the display show something weird like P1, you have to press the down button and you'll finally reach the numbers. Someday, i thought my poly was dead because i had weird sounds, and weird display. I change the batteries and load the patches (yes i still have the original cassette) and everything worked fine. Don't give up and good luck. Bernard Yahoo! Groups SponsorADVERTISEMENT --------------------------------- Yahoo!
