In terms of it's sound, not really...I much prefer the EX-8000's sound, it's like the poly 800 on steroids...BUT the poly lets me do one thing the ex does not, and that's strapping it on and wearing it like a gu-synth, then making cheesy poses like I'm a rock star or something. Of course, I would prefer a moog liberation for this, but considering it poses absolutely no practical use, I can deal without it for now :). In all honesty, my poly 800 has been sitting in the closest ever since about 2 days after I did the battery and moog slayer mods to it, which was about a week after I bought it. If it at least had velocity sensitivity, or even just SENT velocity signals, I would still be using it :(...I guess it might have been worth the 100$ I payed for it...might....will have to wait and see. This made me very happy. Anyone have any interesting or novel uses for their poly 800? Yahoo! Groups Links --- Incoming mail is certified Virus Free.
