I had a look at trying to fit a 2x16 LCD where the existing seven segment displays go.
Unfortunately, the display I have (which is fairly typical of these 2x16 types) won't fit. The supports that would keep the keypad in place would have to be removed and the slope of the back of the case itself impinge into the area where the LCD display PCB would have to go.
I don't see any way to put an LCD display into the Poly-800 in that location or anywhere else unfortunately.

I'm all for it! It'd be awesome to have a semi-graphical display instead of those cryptic LEDs.
In the long term, it would eliminate the need for the parameter decal, too, as the display could display the parameter name and value as you edit.
