Are you actually using a tape recorder? You will need to use the tape out socket. Playing it out through a headphone socket or line out will not be strong enough probably. Change Resistor R96 inside the Poly-800 to 4.7K. It will take some finding on the schematic. Then you can play from a computer or most modern playback methods then.
