Yes, Soundquest will be able to send note on off, program change etc
to the Poly 800 MKI but it will not be able to send patches to or from
the MKI. Only the EX800 and MKII can do that.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
