What is exactly the source of the gate-signal? The monopoly expects (and
sends) +15 Volts as gate. And the real threshold is set by R63/R62 at
KLM-355 (both versions). According to the nominal resistor values the
threshold is at 2.5 Volts, but it may vary with extrem values within the
the variation of the resistors.
If your gate has only 5 Volts and comes from a MIDI-to-CV/Gate interface
with a weak output, then the gate-signal may not trigger the gate
recognition around IC5.
You might insert a trimmer of 47k between R63, R62 and +Input of IC5:
one end of the trimmer to R63, the other end of the trimmer to R62, and
the wiper of the trimmer to pin 3 and R64. With this trimmer you could
set the threshold manually.
