As I recall, it was pretty easy, I think I unzipped the editor to a folder in the folder that Steem considers to be its hard drive. ST apps run either in a high res mode or a low res mode and will complain if you are in the wrong mode. Make sure you set up one of the serial ports in STeem as a MIDI port (it is in the preferences). Double click on the .PRG file for the Steem editor, and you should be ready to go. Of course, set your K3 send and recieve MIDI channels to 1 for simplicity sake, make sure that Master Function 42, 44, and 45 to the maximum setting (this depends on the OS version of you K3. I haven't used Steem in a while, but post a description of any errors you get and i 'll try to help you out. Also, try the Atari-Midi group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/atari-midi probably the best resource for using STeeM Engine. The K3 is a great synth, actually. Pawn shops never pay as much as you can get on eBay or Craigslist. Joel.
