Hi Lee,
I have no clue if this is the answer for you but I've been having timing
problems as well...of another sort...new with 4.7. Mine have something to
do with the new midi engine. When I go into Options/Settins/Midi Interface
Communication/ and deselect Use Unified virtual and classic midi engine, the
timing thing sorts out.

Hope this helps...

Subject: [exs] Strange new problem?????

I have just encountered a new proble mthat is driving me nuts.
I have been working on 4 mixes of atrack all week and have got them done
nicely. problem is that the sax tracks i have layed over my finished mix go
out of time every time I bounce it down. I have tried everything. The same
thing happened to my vocal mix. Main track done and dusted. put the vocal
pieces down and again every time i bounce the whole thing goes out of time.
This has never happened to me before in 5 years of using Logic.
Please someone help! I need to get this project on to CD and start on
something new.
Cheers
Lee

Cheers Julie
I think it must have something to do with it. Problem is i took the
recordings using the new system and when I deselect it it goes even further
out of time?????
I shall deselect it and leave it there i think. Shame really as It would be
useful to use the loop function on Intrument tracks
Peace

Correction, Julie. I'm using Opcode OMS 2.3.8 with the Opcode MIDIport 32,
but I doubt this is having an effect on your audio. I should tell you, we
had some conversations about setting the VXPocket driver in the control
panels to the shortest latency which helps with MIDI input, but I have found
that it destroys my output latency. Set this to the longest latency setting
(which I don't find to sound latent) and see how it affects your audio
performance. Also, do not offset any timing settings in the Audio Drivers
page in Logic. They should be left at their default settings. Let me know
what effect this has. -Jer

Thanks Jer,
I find myself switching the latency settings around depending upon whether
i'm doing heavy input or more output. I kind of work that way. What are
the default settings in the audio driver page? Thanks again.

Julie,

These are not all default settings, but are my recommended settings for the
ASIO VXPocket. Still, somehow my guess is that this will not help your
hanging notes problem (sigh)... Jer

Playback Delay = 0
ASIO Buffer Delay In=0 Out=0
Max. I/O Streams In=2 Out=2
Larger Process Buffer = Unchecked
Larger Disk Buffer = Checked
More friendly Disk Read Handling = Unchecked

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
