LA 5.5 & EXS-MkII are there...

LA 5.5 & EXS-MkII are there...

2002-11-21 by Hendrik Jan Veenstra

Platinum, Gold and Audio version, OS9, OS X and Windows... Y'all
know where to go to, don't ya? If not:
http://www.emagic.de/english/support/download/update.html

And hey, maybe this will stop the Windoze-peep from complaining for,
well, at least 2 days, okay? ;-)

(windows user here)

Are there still any good deals on migrating from the PC to the Mac platform?
(not complaining, just considering ;-)

Hey, migrating from PC to Mac *is* a good deal, isn't it? ;-)))
Seriously, I wouldn't know...

Off to install the update and see what the MkII has in store...

Not that I'd know of, the "switch and save" campaign a) has stopped and b)
has never been too much of a good deal anyways, unless you wanted an Emagic
instrument for free. But when dealing with a reasonable Mac shop the price
for that should be what you'd save anyways.

Personally, I will wait for Apples next CPU generation. The current models
are too slow for what I'd call a computer update. But then, fortunately
Apple is dropping prices quite a bit, and somewhen next year one should be
able to get their current state of the art models for a reasonable price (as
soon as they aren't the latest CPU generation anymore).

Btw, hope you enjoy the EXS MkII - the new routing options and filters are
just nice, and those of you who are into realistic strings/horns and the
likes certainly will appreciate that CC11 (expression) is now somewhat
"hardwired" to relative volume.

Regards,
Sascha

YEAH!!! Crossfades -- not just by velocity but by any controller you
want. And a modulation matrix. And more and more... well.. it's a
regular candy store... Off to play...

As one of the people who bitched and griped about this, I'd just like to
say: YES!!!!!!
Good work, guys, this is an incredibly useful feature. And that pretty much
clinches it for me, I'm off to fetch my credit card...

Hi Sascha,

do you know if the EXS MK II will be available as update only for the EXSP24
without using Logic 5?
Thanks

Yep!
There were maybe four or five serious things that I thought I was
going to lose because of the Apple takeover, and one of
those "things" was the hope of being able to get hold of an future
update for WinEXS24 that would let it do velocity crossfades.

And now they've gone and implemented it.

So now I'm probably 20 to 25% less unhappy about the takeover than I
was before. Which is good all round.

Big Hugs to whoever decided to push this through.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
