You shortcut has to be named "Sampler Instruments".
In that case Logic even can't create a new "Sampler Instruments" directory
(at least on Windows that is).

Oh, it can and it does! I was also surprised, but I have in the same 
folder now a folder "Sampler Instruments" and a shortcut 
called "Sampler Instruments". Maybe I should check the spelling 
again if there is a space or something like that... but I´m really 
stumped and spent hours yesterday checking things out.

Because: It worked before, but I was tired of waiting so long when 
loading a sample..  he was always searching through all hard drives 
(5 partitions on 3 drives... YAWN)
Before I had two shortcuts in logics program folder:
One to G:\Akai Samples
and on to G:\Sampler Instruments

everything was fine, except the loading time.
A friend told me, i can put the Sample Folders into the 
corresponding Sampler Instrument folders. He did it this way and his 
pc is hardly ever searching for samples. And he doesn´t have 
a "Sampler Instruments" shortcut but he has a real folder with this 
name and he creates a shortcut of every converted AKAI CD locatet in 
G:\Sanpmler Instruments and that´s the way to go, he told me.

I changed everything this way and till then nothing works anymore. 
If I try to revert anything - no luck...?! Maybe there really is a 
Space or Caps or something... checking soon.

Hi all,

just in case you´re interested:

I deleted and reinstalled logic and the exs24 - but no change.
Then I let logic create a folder "Sampler Instruments" - it does so 
when I click refresh Menu and there is no folder. Then I converted 
just one samplesound, so the "AKAI Samples" Folder was also created.
I moved these two folders to G:, put all samples and sounds in 
G:\Sampler Instruments, created aliases (shortcuts) by dragging these 
two folders with the right mouse button into logics program folder - 
refresh menu - and - simsalabim - it works.

Please don´t ask me what´s the difference between the folders that I 
created and logic one's. I_don´t_know. The spelling was of course 
correct, and... well who cares... but I really would like to know 
what was wrong...
Well, anyway, this way works. Let logic create its own folders, move 
them where you want and create aliases to 
C:\programs\emagic\logicaudioplatinum... and everything is fine. :-)
