Waveburner Question

Waveburner Question

2001-10-08 by Jess Jackson::

Hi guys,

Ive just recently purchased a Ti laptop and a 8x VST Smartdisk Firewire CD
Writer.

I can use toast with the writer no problem, and I noticed that in order to
use Waveburner with Firewire writers that I needed to upgrade to WB 2.1 , so
I did, Although it still doesn¹t find a writer =/
Any ideas please? I have a lot of work on WB that needs burning off and I
would appreciate any help on this issue

Yours,

Jess Jackson::

Could be that your particular drive isn't supported yet. Here's a
workaround, if you need it...

1. Save the Waveburner tracks as a disc image (it's actually a Sound
Designer II file with embedded track region info).

2. Use Wavesplitter to automatically divide the disc image into discrete
audio files/tracks (it will automatically number the files, so the
correct track order will be maintained).

3. Load the audio files into Toast (or any CD app that supports
disc-at-once writing), set the track gaps to 0 secs, and burn the CD.

Wavesplitter can be found in the Waveburner User Group files section at
Yahoogroups (free membership req):

Can't you just rip a disc-at-once from the whole image in Toast? If not, I
recommend burning with Jam (Red Book standard). Toast does not burn at Red
Book, so I would not recommend it as a tool to burn masters for mass
replication. I know a bit about this as I run a CD manufacturing business.
