I've downloaded a few sample sets from the Internet in S3000 format.
The files are on my harddrive. Is it possible to convert them to an
EXS sampler instrument?
The downloaded zip-file for the S3000 contains a few .wav/.aif files
and a S3000 defention file.
The AKAI conversion tool of the EXS is 'waiting for a cd-rom'.
Is it posible to convert from harddrive?

If the file is a S3000 CD *image* this will work - just pop the image into
your favourite CDR software and burn. The resultant CD will be readable by
EXS. This is in the same way that if you are saving your akai samples to a
HDD - if the HDD partition is < 650MB you can scsi image copy the HDD to a
CD and use that as any other akai CD. Very cool for burning your own created
sample sets to CD for archiving, sharing with mates or just clearing off
your HDD. Works with EMU and Roland samplers too...
