What driver version is he using, and is he using the native driver or
ASIO ? He should expect about 12ms latency, which is useable.

Native I think.
Which is preferable??? And what about the settings in the driver control
panel in logic??

Is the 1212 extension ver 1.3.1 or 2.0.2 ?  If it isn't either of these,
he must have an older version.   2.0.2 is ASIO2 compliant, which means
you get input monitoring etc. If he is using the ASIO driver it should
be ver 5.0.

I have always done OK with the default driver settings and following the
manual's recommendations on disk buffer and processor buffer [both off]
