EXSP24, DigiPerf3.11 probs

EXSP24, DigiPerf3.11 probs

2004-02-03 by digiperfbob

I've installed EXSP24 on my G4-533/OS9.2.2 to use with Digital
Performer 3.11, and I can't get it to call up the Sampler
Instruments. It 'sees' them, i.e., I see the names of the
instruments, but there's no sample playback, only a sine wave. I
have the EXSP24 VST plug in the VST folder, I have the latest
OS9 VST shell and I let the installer put the samples in the same
folder that my VST folder is in.

Is there a trick?

You must be in MIDI channel number 1 on your track.
That has solved the problem for me.

Do you mean that I should have the Midi channel (with
EXSP assigned to the output) be the first on the
Tracks Overview, beneath the Conductor track, or
literally Midi channel 1? I've tried both to no avail.
Could you explain further, please?

I am running it on Logic (no idea about DP), and when the midi
channel setting on the track I'm using for the ESXP24 "jumps" to
something different from "1" I get the -sine wave- sound. As soon
as I make it midi channel 1 again, it behaves normally.
I hope this helps.

Also - look at your "list" editor for the track you're sending to the
EXS - all the channel assignments in that list should be the same as
the the channel that you've selected in the track output section - in
Nuendo, this means that if you send a MIDI track out on, say, channel
10, and you've selected channel 10 in the EXS, all your MIDI data for
that track, as shown in the "list" editor, should also be forced to
channel 10.

This may not solve your problem in Logic, but it's worth a try!

Hope this helps.
