While I don't know wether the limit is around 15.000 there certainly is a limit to the size of a menu. If I recall it correctly the ID of a menu entry (used by the windowing system to indicate which particular entry had been selected) is a 16bit number thus allowing for a theoretical maximum of 65000 distinguishable menu-entries. It doesn't seem far fetched to assume that the range reserved for EXS Instruments does not span the full theoretically possible range. >Does anyone also have this problem or has someone a solution for me? Do you *always* need all your 15.000 instruments or could you preselect some by moving those you don't need (temporarily) into a different directory ? Or in other words: Assuming there is a maximum number of instruments and this is around 15.000 than I suppose you have no choice other than using a subset of your instruments possibly selected on a case by case basis.
