Just go for an ATA bus and setup up a software stripe array in OSX. It'll double the access speed too (great for streaming samples). Be careful though, because OSX RAIDs are not visible to OS9 (so I've heard). The ATA controller is probably under $50. Two 120GB drives would run about $300.
