Hm, time for a CPU update, no?
I have just been playing back 40 voices (5 EXS instances all playing 8
notes) of some rather CPU intense patches (all stereo, filter allways on) -
no problem at all.

Earlier EXS tests showed that I can play up to 85-90 voices with the filter
and around 190 without. Not bad if you ask me, especially that these days
some people allready would call my machine outdated.

Yeah, most patches don't sound well with the filter switched off, but some
almost sound identical - looks like Peter Krischker (the programmer) had the
filter switched on all the time, just in case he'd need it.
