Whats wrong with find 'files and folders' if you know the file type ?
I.E.  -  *.ThreeLetterFileTypeExtensionHere

  Well they are there in mine. Perhaps they weren't installed properly in
  yours, or perhaps you have the EVP73 VST plugin.
