Why not program for OSX instead if your projections are distant? I know application development for OSX is not there yet, but soon most music applications will migrate to the newer and more memory efficient OS. I'll bet there'll be a lot of people moving to the new OS in 6 months. Conjecture I know, but just thinking out loud really. When mainstream web apps, graphics apps and sound apps are comfortably migrated, I will be switching myself. My understanding is that Apple is using Emagic hardware as the basis for developing its specs and any native support for musicians.
