Re: [EXS] Free DIY Music Box for the EXS

2008-08-06 by Dennis Burns

OK - problem solved and fixed, 2 options are available.

1. If you have already downloaded the D.I.Y. Music Box, you can just
download the new .exs instruments files. They are in a zip package at
the bottom on the DIY Music Box download page.

2. If you have not downloaded this free sound at all, the whole zip
file including samples has been updated-corrected. You can also re-
download the whole package if you wish (9.2 mb).

Here is what I *believe* went wrong. Upon finishing this sound set I
decided to convert from 24 bit to 16 using Keymap. I used just 1 of
the .exs instruments to do this. I guess you could say I tried to
'fool' the EXS into thinking it was still using 24 bit files (bad
idea). I should have resaved each .exs instrument from Keymap again.
The result was a weird tuning of 1 sample, but also more annoying was
a EXS induced click at the end of each sample. This I corrected by
changing the sample end frame of each zone by -2 (a fun way to spend
the afternoon).

What is really odd is brought these same .exs instruments into
Kontakt 2 and it had none of the above mentioned problems.

So, go ahed and download whatever you may need, this is a very nice
sound set I feel. Sorry for the inconvenience!
