I'm not very familiar with EXS nor Logic7 right now, so I export the track as an .aif, open it in Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ create a fade within a blink of an eye and drag it back... As for external discs, I had the internal disc replaced with a larger Apple one, put the old one in a box, both discs are recognized as Apple, got the picture? Anyway, in disc utility, formatting an external disc under OS X extended (journaled) should solve the problem
