The SI soundfont issue is something I've run into myself, with regard to the orchestral brass. I had to go into the EXS instrument and retune every note. Unfortunately, there is pitch correction information in the soundfonts that is not converted properly by EXS24. The samples themselves are way out of tune, and all to different degrees. This is especially bad because in some of the instruments, more than one sample is played for each key. The release sample problem is something else entirely. Don
