Probably a task for EXSManager again...

The .exs files have information on what format the sample file is. Static 
can either happen if the type or the bits are wrong.

Typewise, if it's AIFF, it'll have a "AIFF" text line in it. If WAVE, the 
"WAVE", if Sound Designer, then "Sd2f".

If this is out of sync, especially if it's a AIFF and the .exs says WAVE, 
you get static because the EXS engine plays the sample data in the wrong 
byte order.

Also, if the .exs file says 16-bit, it'll play the sample with 16-bit 
interpretation (2 bytes per sample). If the samples are 24-bit, you get static.

You can use EXSManager to sort this all out, then you'll be golden.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
