I have found exs' native conversion to be quite slow. Sometimes, the conversions don't work well but, for the most part, it does an adequate job. That being said, I personally feel that Chicken Systems Translator or CDXtract are better overall in conversions. For basic stuff such as loop libraries and whatnot, exs conversions are usually okay. Any libs which have more complex programming are usually converted more completely by one of the 3rd party solutions and, especially, much quicker. If you only have one CD, probably might not be worth it to buy either software. If you have several though, I would say that it is worthwhile. You can get a specialized version of Translator for a cheaper price (ie it will only convert from Akai to exs and nothing else) and then upgrade at a later date if you need to. That might be another option for you. HTH, Fernstudio [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
